After careful consideration, we believe the year 2225 BC (the ORIGINAL calculated date for this EVENT) should really be 2253 BC instead. We base this on the idea that "our era"[1] means the year of the first printing of this book (1968) minus 4,221 which equals 2253 BC. Welcome to the UPDATED VERSION. Until we find out what exactly Eric Von Daniken meant by "our era"[1], we'll have to put this on the back burner also, and until then, the year 2253 BC is as good a year as any other year. The important thing is the date, July 19th, and the fact that it's over four thousand years ago. It is interesting though, that dates can be co-ordinated by using the rising of a star (Sirius) as one co-ordinating point, which rises on the same day every single year, as the second co-ordinating point...
