THIS DAY IN HISTORY (TDIH)
DEC-28 <<<< DEC-29 >>>> DEC-30
LOCATION:
Houston, TX USA
WHAT HAPPENED:
Betty Cash and Vickie Landrum
were driving at night (around 9 pm local time) when they
encountered a large luminous object that they both described differently.
The fact that each witness reported seeing something different, is one of the more interesting aspects of the case. To us, it is an indication of honesty, because if they had planned to make the story up, you would think they would at least agree on what they saw. Although as we investigated this sighting further, we discovered that it wasn't so much that they each saw something different, but that one saw the object much clearer than the other.
Cash was only able to make out a brilliant light and no real discernable shape, but Landrum saw a kind of long, stubby, cigar-like shape with a pointed bottom and round top.
Another interesting aspect of the case (besides the different descriptions mentioned above, and accompanying helicopter sightings mentioned below) is the temperature effect felt by Cash as she tried to open the car door and it was too hot to touch. For some reason this reminded us of what happens when you put aluminum foil in a microwave. It becomes so hot, it burst into flames. Does this prove anything? Not really, but it's still interesting nonetheless.
They followed the object around and watched while it shot flames out and sometimes was accompanied by 20 twin-rotor helicopters.
When they later developed medical problems, the two sued the government for twenty million dollars. Their case was dismissed on the grounds that the government "claimed" they didn't own or operate a device such as the one the two described.
