SEP-17 <<<< SEP-18 >>>> SEP-19
LOCATION:
Algiers, LA USA
WHAT HAPPENED:
Spontaneous Human Combustion (SHC)
Possibly one of the most noted Spontaneous Human Combustion (SHC) events recorded to date is the Denney case of Algiers, Louisiana. It started off simple enough, but then almost immediately started getting weirder and weirder as the investigation proceeded.
On this day back in 1952 on the West Bank of the Mississippi River in what is considered the oldest section of New Orleans, Glen B. Denney hadn't been seen for days. His neighbor noticed smoke coming from his apartment, suspected foul play, and called the Fire Department.
Denney was found by firemen engulfed in flames. Not another thing in the room was touched. Nothing in the room was combustible. The autopsy showed he had cut his wrist just before he burst into flames.
